Acts 1:8 (NIV) "But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” CONSIDER THIS Today's Holy Spirit story, and the last one in the Acts series, comes to us from a dear friend of mine Susan Murithi. Susan and her husband, Jeff, are from Kenya and now pastor in the great state of Kansas. They are humble giants in God's kingdom. I love this story they recently sent. Last Saturday we shared a Holy Spirit story involving a miraculous wonder of healing mercy, a sign of the kingdom. Today's story is no less wonder-full and yet it is of a quieter variety. I love how the diversity of human language plays into the story and how it is a story of being lost and found. And I love the sign-act of marriage and its significance in God's kingdom. The story carries a number of signs to us, so let's pray for eyes to see them. Below you will read the story in their voice and, if you listen, you will hear it in their voices.  God is so good! A year ago yesterday (last year Sept 30 was a Saturday) your devotional was a testimony about the verse Exodus 14:14. The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still. Exodus 14:14 After I read that devotional I saw the phrase “The Lord will fight for you” and “Be still” in every scripture I read that day and the next. Even the sermon that Sunday was on it. It is fitting that I saw it again in the Wake Up Call on the one year anniversary of seeing it before. A year ago my husband had left me, filed for divorce and things seemed hopeless. I knew God wanted us to reconcile but I felt helpless to fix us. He was determined and wouldn’t talk with me. I prayed and fasted. I even started a prayer closet (war room). Long story short—a month later he started talking with me and by mid November he had moved back home. We are working through the issues and God is healing us both.  Yes the Lord will fight for you! Be still! THE PRAYER Father,  Praying in Jesus's name, amen.
