The Problem with the Rules . . . or the Possibilities

This episode centers on Mark 7 and Jesus’s challenge to religious legalism. J. D. Walt contrasts a “gotcha” mindset with a God who is “for us,” arguing that the heart of the law is not rigid rule-keeping but love, protection, and flourishing relationship with God and others.
